Each week we are celebrating the amazing educators who make our school such a special place! This week we are shining the spotlight on Katie Howanietz (Fifth Grade), Blaine Roatch (Technology), Ashley Vargas (Physical Education) and James D (P.E Student Teacher)
Not only do they bring energy, creativity and care to their classrooms everyday, but they also inspire students to always give their best! “Reese’s or Snickers”
What is your favorite hobby or things to do for fun?
“Being Outside. Biking. Hiking. Camping. Kayaking”
What is one fun fact about you?
” I bicycle at least 5000 miles a year ”
What do you teach?
“I teach P.E. because it really is the best! This is my 12th year teaching in East Aurora School District, and my second year teaching P.E. I was previously a classroom teacher, and I feel so fortunate to now teach at two schools. I love getting to connect with all the amazing students at both Rollins and Hermes!”
What is your favorite snack/candy?
” My favorite snack is a Honeycrisp apple with peanut butter. My favorite candy is a Snickers…it’s even better when it’s frozen.”
What is your favorite hobby or things to do for fun?
“I don’t really have a go-to hobby that comes to mind. My favorite thing to do though is really anything that involves spending time with my husband, family, friends, and my doggo. I’m happiest when I’m with my people and my pup!l”
What is one fun fact about you?
“Outside of teaching, I run a small business called Stack’d Elite Training. It’s all about helping young athletes build strength, speed, and confidence!”
