Dunham STEM Partnership School Parent MeetingReunión para padres de la Escuela Dunham STEM Partnership

Nine seats are available next year for incoming EASD 131 third-grade students at the John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School.

The STEM School is part of the Aurora University campus and specializes in science, technology, engineering, and math. The STEM School serves 200 students in grades 3 through 8 from four area school districts, including East Aurora School District 131, Indian Prairie 204, West Aurora 129, and Batavia 101.

This opportunity is for students with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. It is not solely for gifted students—any student with a passion for these subjects is encouraged to apply.

Parent Information Meeting

Parents can learn more about the John C. Dunham STEM School by attending a Parent Information Meeting on Thursday, February 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Aurora University Banquet Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place, Aurora, IL 60506.

Application Process

Parents of students who wish to apply for one of the nine available seats should complete (online) the 2020-21 STEM “Parent or Third Adult Survey” application. This Survey will be available online immediately following the February 27 Parent Meeting.

The online Survey must be completed by Friday, March 6, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. Surveys received after this date/time will not be accepted.

A lottery for all available seats will be held on Thursday, March 26th. On April 6th, the school district will send letters to parents notifying them either that their child was selected for the AU STEM school, or that their child is on the wait list.

El próximo año contamos con nueve lugares disponibles para estudiantes de tercer grado del Distrito Escolar 131 del Este de Aurora, en la Escuela Dunham STEM Parnership.

La Escuela STEM es parte del campus de la Universidad de Aurora y se especializa en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas. La Escuela STEM presta servicios a 200 estudiantes de 3er a 8vo grado de los cuatro distritos escolares del área, lo cual incluye el Distrito Escolar 131 del Este de Aurora, Indian Prairie 204, el Oeste de Aurora 129 y Batavia 101.

Esta oportunidad es para los estudiantes con interés en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas. No es únicamente para estudiantes dotados, se invita solicitar admisión a cualquier estudiante apasionado por estas materias.

Reunión informativa para los padres

Los padres pueden aprender sobre la Escuela John C. Dunham STEM, al asistir a la reunión informativa para padres el jueves, 27 de febrero de 6-8 p.m., en el salón de conferencias de la Universidad de Aurora, ubicado en 1410 Marseillaise Place, Aurora, IL. 60506.

Proceso de solicitud

Los padres de estudiantes que deseen solicitar para uno de los nueve lugares disponibles, deben completar la solicitud (en-línea) 2020-2021 STEM “Encuesta para el padre o tutor”. Esta encuesta estará disponible en-línea inmediatamente después de la reunión para padres del 27 de febrero.

La encuesta en-línea debe completarse el viernes, 6 de marzo de 2020 a las 3:00 p.m. No se aceptarán encuestas después de esta fecha/hora.

El jueves, 26 de marzo se llevará a cabo un sorteo para todos los lugares disponibles. El 6 de abril, el distrito escolar enviará cartas a los padres para notificarles que su hijo(a) fue seleccionado por la Escuela AU STEM o que su hijo(a) forma parte de la lista de espera.
